As I write I am on a train heading back from up north and a lovely visit to my family.
The reason for this trip was my sisters first baby shower!!
Baby is due at the end of the month and this was the first time I have seen her looking pregnant, she has been so small the whole way through, which is good for her as she has totally sailed through it! I on the other hand was being very selfish and really wanted to see a hugh baby bump!! Not that she has one now but at least you can now see something!!
The shower turned out brilliantly, based on the ‘little pea’ theme I used for her new born knitted gifts a little while ago http://loumms.wordpress.com/2010/08/19/little-pea/ my mam and other sister managed to get a whole set of goodies matching perfectly!!
My other sister also put together the most amazing nappy cake!!
It is two layers of nappies covered in baby towels with a top layer of flowers and leaves made from socks and booties and little bits!! The whole thing is decorated with cute little flowers, baby dummies and topped with a baby bottle! She is so good!!
A friend of my sisters made some tasty cup cakes and Ginger bread girls and boys and put together a baby basket full of necessities and the obligatory bottle of wine!
Anyway we played a few games, guess the age, weight, hair colour, D.O.B etc, match the crazy celebrity baby name to the celebrity and guess the baby picture game too!
She then opened some of the cutest presents ever and thankfully loved the baby blanket, hat and little pixie trousers I knit! I’ll get some better photos of all of these once the baby is here and wearing them!!
I am so glad I made it up there as the whole weekend was just perfect!!
Next time I see them all she’ll have a son or daughter and I’ll be an aunt!!!
