peppers in november?

25 Nov

Look at that! Little pepper buds are a-sprouting. It’s an indoor plant – in fact, it lives on my desk – but I was still so surprised to find them when I went to water it this afternoon. It’s leafy and healthy and looking as strong as ever, but don’t pepper plants run on some sort of cycle involving spring and warmer weather? At last count there were seven buds, with four of them looking like they might blossom any day now. How exciting! With any luck it means that this Londoner will be harvesting fresh peppers in February!
