Happy pancake day!


Yum! This year I added some cinnamon and vanilla to the batter (as suggested by Isa Chandra Moskowitz) and used rice bran oil instead of soya, as well as maple syrup instead of sugar. De-freaking-licious. Matthew claims these were my best yet and I don’t think I would disagree. The rice bran oil added a rather lovely, if unexpected, texture to the flavour.

Susanna (Lou’s partner in Best Womanhood) is coming to visit this week with her partner. Her plane arrives late-late Wednesday, so I’m thinking a pancake breakfast the next morning might be a perfect way to celebrate their arrival!
