At long last, our August LYOS pattern is ready, hurrah! As previously alluded, July was a bit of a tough month and then Emmms twisted her ankle which set things back even further because it was the same ankle that she had to use to model her version of the sock!

What were the chances?!

In any case, we are delighted to have this ready for your viewing pleasure, as it was heaps of fun to design and even more fun to knit, not least because the yarn (customed by the wonderful Easyknitter himself) made each stitch a veritable adventure in colour!

With their cascading staircase of mock cable and delicious wrap-around heel, these socks will add a delightful bit of fashion-forward asymmetry to your wardrobe. But we’ve also gone a little toe crazy with this venture, offering up not one, not two, but three options for your toes! Option one is your everyday full toe; option two will let you wear flip-flops right into winter; and options three will keep each of your toes wrapped up.

All this means that, with the new school year approaching,  and whether you’re starting high school or entering college, these socks are the perfect thing to let your unique personality shine through that haze of conformity.

‘Sherbert Toe Socks’ is the fifteenth pattern to be released under the Loumms Year of Socks. It is available on Ravelry as a free download, and you can download the pattern here.

Please note that while we’ve done our best to make sure there are no errors, we can’t guarantee there aren’t any. If you find something that looks amiss, get in touch! We’ll be posting updates if we find any, but we are always grateful for feedback of any sort.

****ERRATA****

In the ‘indie’ toe section of the written instructions both left and right toes have been written as left! The first one is the left and the second one is the right

I love the socks and I can’t seem to get the pdf. It says the file is damaged and could not be repaired. Any chance you could email it to me?

    Hi!
I love these socks, they’re so cutee. However, I’ve been trying to knit them up and I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if there’s an error in the pattern because my stitches aren’t adding up. In the beginning it says CO66, and yet the following line says to split them up 31, 17,16…which only adds up to 64 sts. Then when working the leg the pattern says to use chart A and chart B, but chart A added to chart B equal 72 sts…and there aren’t that many sts on my needles. This is my first time knitting socks so I’m probably just doing something wrong. Help!:D Thanks

Hey– I haven’t started to knit yet, but in the ‘indies’ toe section (which is the one I’m interested in!) there are two ‘baby toe left’s. I’m assuming the pattern continues and the second is actually ‘baby toe right’, but just thought you should know.

hello! I have noticed some mistakes in your instructions: on the heel gusset you say for needle 1 “pick up and knit 14 sts up the left selvedge edge”, then it says “Needle 3: pick up and knit 21 14 sts along the right selvedge edge”, presumably you mean 14 on each needle!

Then it says to do the decreasing rounds until 64 sts remain, “18 sts on Needle 1, 30 sts
on Needle 2; 18 sts on Needle 3.” This adds up too 66 not 64!

Thanks so much for letting us know the error!

I’ll make sure I get it mentioned on the pattern page ASAP!

How are you finding the pattern?
